General information
MoveMate is a project of an autonomous robot that follows a designated route using the GPS from the controller’s phone. It detects obstacles on its path, bypasses them, and provides reminders for important tasks through customizable notifications via a mobile app. The robot is controlled via a custom application available for iOS and Android devices, with communication between the phone and the robot based on Bluetooth technology. The casing combines 3D printing and laser-cut plexiglass. This device serves as a prototype for a robot designed to assist people with reduced mobility. It follows its owner using the phone’s location and can, for example, carry a shopping basket through a store. Using the reminder feature, the owner can configure alerts displayed on the top screen at specific times and dates. Additionally, the robot approaches the owner and emits sounds to draw attention.
